The story of the Schossberger Castle could have come straight from a Disney fairy tale.

Its exterior bears a striking resemblance to a fairytale castle, while its interior captivates visitors with a unique and unforgettable atmosphere. Today, it is mostly known as the Turai Castle. However, fewer people know that the castle, built in 1890, was commissioned by a man who originally worked as a tobacco and confectionery merchant, later becoming a wealthy baron. His social status and financial resources provided the perfect foundation for creating a magnificent residence. The castle was equipped with the latest technological innovations and solutions of the era, including central heating, electricity, insulation, mirrored light shafts, and bathrooms on every floor supplied with fresh artesian water. Even a food lift was installed in the building. Following the Second World War, however, the castle entered a period of decline. It served as a military hospital and later as a school, and the deteriorating building waited for many years, seemingly without hope, for its rebirth. It was acquired by BDPST, and reconstruction began in 2016, resulting in the magnificent castle that reopened in 2019.
