Luxury family house on the Római-part

The Danube-side area of Budapest’s District III, Óbuda, is known as Római-part, although according to maps it stretches from the mouth of the Aranyhegyi Stream to Losonc Street. The origin of its name dates back to ancient times, as the Romans living here already enjoyed bathing in the river and spending their leisure time by the waterfront. The area truly began to gain popularity in the 1840s, when István Széchenyi and Miklós Wesselényi introduced rowing as a sport in Hungary. An interesting fact is that the first competition was held here in 1842, and its winner was Ádám Clark, the chief engineer responsible for the construction of the Chain Bridge and the designer of the tunnel beneath Buda Castle. In 1892, the Rowing Association was founded, and by then 23 boathouses were already registered along Római-part. Visitors were served by 6 traditional inns, 2 restaurants, and 3 free beaches. By the middle of the 20th century, the area had become the capital’s true water sports centre, with private villas and holiday homes being built one after another, where mainly affluent Budapest residents spent their leisure time. In addition, company and association holiday resorts were also established, ensuring the popularity of Római-part until the 1980s. Later, due to deteriorating water quality, the beaches were closed and the area entered a period of decline. It began to awaken from this dormant period in the 2010s, but its real revival came from 2021, when the beach reopened and the area once again became a popular destination.

During the 2010s, residential parks began to be developed in the area, several of them directly along the Danube waterfront. These projects focused on proximity to the river, panoramic views, and high-quality luxury properties. Among these, we now present a newly built family house that was completed a few years ago.
