data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In Pest County, at the confluence of two rivers, lies a picturesque settlement that has experienced several cycles of population growth and decline throughout its history. The earliest archaeological findings date back to the 5th millennium BC, the Neolithic period; furthermore, Scythian, Celtic and Sarmatian peoples may also have inhabited the area. The excellent quality of the farmland and the proximity of the rivers made the region highly attractive; however, it became completely depopulated during the Mongol invasion of Hungary. In the 15th and 16th centuries, only a few dozen houses were recorded in the settlement, and by 1686 it was declared completely uninhabited. In the 1720s, the new landowners of the region began resettlement efforts, which proved successful.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">The manor house presented in our article was envisioned by the settlement itself and by Istv\u00e1n Viczi\u00e1n, who was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun County in 1941<sup>1<\/sup>. Viczi\u00e1n studied law and began his career in public administration in 1896 as a trainee clerk at the Ministry of the Interior. In 1917, he became a ministerial councillor, in 1921 deputy state secretary, and in 1931 he was appointed state secretary. Ten years later, he became the first and most influential person of the county. It is a single-storey building with a rectangular floor plan. Architecturally, it represents an eclectic, classicising style, which defines the entire character of the building. Its most distinctive feature is the portico with four columns and a tympanum. The roof structure follows a mansard design. The magnificent garden was planted at approximately the same time as the manor house, featuring black pines, linden trees, horse chestnuts and pedunculate oaks. The manor house was later sold, and its current owner purchased it in the 1990s, when the renovation of the building also took place.
